The former Love Island contestant turned mental health and body positivity advocate will interview people with astonishing stories about their darkest moments and how they overcame them.

Malin Andersson and Studio71 UK, a Red Arrow Studios company, announce the release of Battles, an original podcast series set to illuminate incredible stories of personal struggles and how people overcame them. The conversational podcast sees Andersson invite guests to share their amazing tales of resilience to help empower listeners facing their own personal battles.

Across the series, Andersson will talk to a variety of guests, each with a unique and inspiring story to tell. From painful, public traumas faced by renowned personalities through to incredible tales from her friends and fans, Andersson intends Battles to be a safe space for which to share life’s most challenging stories while celebrating the journey to today.

Battles is released today with three episodes featuring guests Danniella Westbrook, Vex King and Adele-Marie Hartshorn. It will continue on a weekly basis thereafter.

Over the past few years, Andersson has been open about the difficulties she has had to endure, sharing her experiences with her growing fanbase of over 990K combined followers. Andersson rose to stardom and influencer-status following her appearance on Love Island UK in 2016, but substantial life-changing experiences, including the tragic loss of her baby daughter, altered her path in the public eye. She now dedicates her time to raising awareness of mental health issues and uses her social platforms to discuss challenging topics in a bid to break social stigmas and empower her followers. Andersson has most recently become an ambassador for Refuge, a specialist charity providing support to women and children experiencing abuse and for the baby loss charity, Sands.

Malin Andersson says, Everyone knows my story, and what I’ve been through, but I want to give people the same opportunity to have their voice be heard. I know this podcast will spread awareness on issues that are close to my heart, and I’m excited to give people their chance to talk about their own experiences and how they have overcome their battles, with the hope of helping inspire our listeners to keep going whatever they are facing.”

Tom Payne, Studio71 UK Director of Content, says: “We’re so excited to be creating this podcast with Malin, who has been a joy to work with and has given the project so much passion and energy. She’s a brilliant host who brings in her life experiences into her thoughtful approach to interviews, allowing guests to talk openly with confidence. Battles is one of several bigger talent-led projects we’re rolling out in the new few months and forms part of our overall strategy to bolster the slate which has already enjoyed successes in its infancy.”

Battles with Malin Andersson is an original podcast produced by media company Studio71UK and one of eleven podcasts on its audio slate. Battles is a Studio71 production, produced by Jack Claramunt and Winnie Simon, and executively produced by Tom Payne and Jody Smith.
